There has been some talk lately of establishing a "Code of Ethics" for liberal bloggers to follow. Right now, we have no guide to tell us who to listen to. We are left to fend for ourselves, going only on whether someone has good ideas they articulate well. But, if bloggers were to post a "Code of Ethics" it would lead us out of the wild west scene that has us all so lost. It is such a simple solution I'm surprised certain people are taking so much heat for it! Bloggers should simply
tell us whether they are honest and whether we should listen to them. How much easier (and more reliable!) than having to make those determinations for ourselves.
So here then, is my Code Of Ethics:
I promise to try to buy your influence, with cash, and later turn to suggest you were in fact bought off.
I promise to sandbag former allies with timed political stories in leading national papers.
And most importantly, I promise to feign naivete and surprise at my own words and the effects they may have.
See how easy it is? Now remember -- don't listen to anyone out in that wild west blogosphere unless you have it
in writing that you can trust them... you can't believe everything you read on the web, you know.
