Intel Dump...it seems that budget cuts are coming from the DoD for Stars and Stripes.
Here's an article from the newspaper itself.
Stars and Stripes did important work in providing a venue for soldiers to vent their frustration in the aftermath to the Iraq war. They are crucial to providing a well-informed soldiery.
Support the troops indeed. Another great issue for the Democratic nominee, as it is a confluence of the Bush administration's (a) out of touch attitudes in regards to the needs of everyday soldiers, (b) tetchiness with the open flow of information, (c) and (d) the usual, utter hypocrisy with regards to budget cuts for needed services (so...the Pentagon can't float 10 or 20 million to the newspaper? While they waste billions with Halliburton and zero cost controls?).
