What do you think about when you say "This is not the America I grew up in"? I think it just means that you have personally opend your eyes up to some truths you don't agree with. Conservatives think that gay sex in the bedroom is intruding on there lives. Liberals say that the governement has attained too much power. News flash, ALL OF THIS HAS ALWAYS HAPPENED. America has never been okay for most people here and or abroad. Do protesters from the 60's think that what is going on is anything new? Does the religious right think that homosexuality is just now poping up? No, our perspectives change and we get angry. I would only hope that the America I grew up in does change, a whole lot and soon.
I hope it changes to start treating people with respect. And to make sure everyone is fed and healthy. And that personal religeous views are not infringed upon, or pushed on others. We all need to reach out of our hate filled ideas and be kind to others. We all need to change our own selfish desires. We all need to let go of what we thought America was and start making it what it should be. If not, what kind of future do we have? What kind of future do our children have?
