This a a brief diary. Just wanted to give the Kaine campaign some needed publicity and mojo. For those of you who don't know too much about this race, Tim Kaine is the current Lt. Gov of Virginia and he is running to replace Mark Warner, who is the current Democratic governor. Mark Warner is retiring at the end of this year due to a one-term only governor policy for this state. Tim Kaine's opponent is Republican Jerry Kilgore.
Virginia is a red/pink state, but Mark Warner has about a 70% approval rating which is remarkable considering the demographic make-up of this state. Tim Kaine has worked closely with Mark Warner, and they have managed to make Virginia the best managed state in the country according to a recent independent study. Current Rasmussen polls have the race tied at 45%, with Kaine building momentum since he was about 8 points down earlier in the race. So the mojo is on our side.
This race is crucial in my opinion to setting the stage for a great momentum build up for the 2006 mid-term elections and also for the 2008 presidential elections where Virginia is definately going to be a swing state like Ohio was in 2004.

Important
- Please support this race financially, especially if you live outside Virginia. Every dime in such a close race such as this makes a huge difference ($3, $5, $10, anything you can afford)
- If you live in Virginia, please sign up to volunteer for Tim Kaine's campaign, even if you can help a few hours a week. We have less than a month to the election.
- The most important point that would win this race is the Get-Out-The-Vote effort. Turnout is key. Whoever gets their side motivated to vote on Nov 8 is going to win. That's why every volunteer is needed here.
Unfortunately, this race is hardly front-paged on dKos.

Recommend this diary to give this race some super-visibility mojo. Thanks.
