The AFP has just
reported that the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has just told Iranian state television that the government has uncovered proof that the British were involved in the bombing attack last week that killed six people and injured more than 100 in the city of Ahvaz.
Mottaki claims:
"Information obtained by the concerned organs show that Britain is the main accused in the recent events. The information shows that Britain is seeking to create insecurity in our country by interfering in our internal affairs," he added, warning that the consequences "could be worrying for the British."
The British embassy in Tehran responded immediately denying the accusations saying:
"We reiterate our total rejection of these accusations as well as our condemnation of these terrorist attacks. We have made it clear to the Iranian authorities that the British government and British forces in Iraq stand ready to assist in preventing attacks of this kind."
Was the British involved in the bombing? I dont know. Mottaki, doesn't mention any hard evidence that the British were actually involved in the bombing. On another note the town of Ahvaz was in a
state of civil unrest earlier this year after a forged letter was distributed in large numbers claiming the president's office had ordered the relocation of Arabs of Iranian descent. Hmmm forged letters, civil unrest, bombings, would anyone care to shed some light on the subject?
