I'm depresed. I am waiting here impatiently for the BushCo. house of cards to come crumbling down when Patrick Fitzgerald hands out his indictments. I am as excited about the prospects as many of you are. I am constantly on DailKos, Raw Story etc... to find the next juicy bit of info. I've largly ignored the talking heads on cable news, knowing they can't tell me anything I haven't already read on the internets.
Then it dawned on me. As a resident of South East Florida, I will likely be smack dab in the middle of Hurricane Wilma on Tuesday. The thought of a hurricane is not what bothers me so much, but the thought of being without POWER, CABLE, OR AN INTERNET CONNECTION on Wednesday or Friday (days the grand jury meets) of next week makes me sick.
Like many of you, I have been living for THIS moment for 5 years! There is no other event in recent history, that I can think of, when I would NEED an internet connection so badly! What am I supposed to do? I need suggestions here people, times could be desperate for myself and other South Florida Kossacks. You can hold off on the suggestions of a generator and a TV with an antenna. The local channels will mostly be covering hurricane aftermath. And as for newspapers... Please, the subject of Sec. Powell's aide railing aginst Cheney made page 16A of today's Palm Beach Post, so I have little faith in getting in-depth coverage. Now I know there will be people with bigger problems than this after the storm, but the only place I can get sympathy from fellow news/politics junkies is here. So help a brother out!
