Here's a fright story for all you dKos'ers:
Forget the Saturday Night Massacre... can you imagine if Bush were to use his withdrawal of Miers to settle up with Fitzgerald? Think of this scenario; Fitzgerald visited with Rove/Luskin the other day and what if that conversation centered around a different sort of plea bargain?
ROVE: Look, Patrick, there are many ways of making a deal. Let's talk a different type of bargain. As you know, our Supreme Court nominee is getting absolutely hammered. I fear her life as a nominee is not long for this world. Now, if say, these pesky threats of indictment were to go away on Friday, well... you know President Bush thinks the world of you...
FITZ: A little you scratch my back...?
ROVE: I think you get the picture...
I actually wouldn't put this past Rove or Bush. I'm pretty sure Fitz would bust him in the teeth for proposing it, but then, a Supreme Court seat isn't something to snicker at.
Anyway, sends shivers down the spine just thinking about it...
