I hired a programmer contractor to retool the entire comments for the site, bringing them into the 21st century (I think they date to the last one). It'll take a couple of months, but the new comments will blow everything that currently exists out of the water.
the last week, overwhelmed by the book, the news cycle, and life, I had a series of epiphanies on the future of the site. The retooled comment boards are just a part of the changes I've got in the queue for the site. I'll remain mute on these changes for the time being, but I haven't been this excited about the future of the site in a while.
Oh, and a new, working search is actually close to completion.
