I found this analysis pretty strange and wanted to get other peoples take on it. Chuck Todd writes that only John Morrison can beat Conrad Burns in the general election!

What's his reasoning? Not much is given, except that the "liberal blogosphere loves Tester" and that the Pearl Jam concert won't sit well with Bush voters. He also says the NRSC will paint him as "out of touch with the mainstream". While I don't know much about Tester, he seems like the most mainstream candidate of the three possible candidates(Burns, Morrison, and Tester). He seems like an "everyman" type of candidate that will connect well with rural voters. What is Chuck Todd talking about?
Is Chuck way off the mark like I think he is or does he know what he's talking about? Is Chuck Todd the one who's out of touch? I would appreciate any current or former Montana residents that want to give some explanation.
