The McCain Amendment passed the Senate by a
filibuster proof 90-9 vote.
This is a blow to the WH who threatened to veto the Defense Appropriations Bill if it passed, as well as a great victory for our troops and American values. Let's see if Bush goes through on his threat. Wouldn't it be great if the only he veto he ever issued was defeated by the Senate?
The roll call is not posted yet (sorry, I started watching C-span late), and I heard no "no" votes in the last 15-20 minutes of the vote. Find out tomorrow or so who the loathsome creatures who voted against passage of this amendment are.
