Often I read Daily Kos and come away with the feeling of dread. The feeling of anxiety from all I read here has influenced me to start reading books on surviving in the wild. I worry about a national disaster coming that is manmade.
I am realistic and like many of you I see the writing on the wall. There is no sense in being in denial. If I'm lucky enough to die of old age before Amerika is a dictatorship, I still have reincarnation to worry about - what if I come back?!
On the scale of human emotions fear is at the bottom. Fear paralyzes us. It freezes us. If we have to choose betwen fight or flight what can we do? We cannot actually go out there and fight our administration. We cannot pick up guns and war with them. Fighting in any other way is a just an exercise in frustration. So we choose flight - we run. We run into our homes, escape into TV shows, our dinner and beer. Online we find solace in each other's misery here.
I think we can all agree our country is in a serious farked up state. We are glad those in charge are having a bit of bad luck now, but we all know they won't give up and no one is going to get in serious trouble. If someone in the admin does get arrested, there are plenty more to take their place.
Instead of focusing on how bad things are, how bad 'they' are and how bad we are in dealing with it all. We need to focus on what we can do. We need to energize ourselves. We need to revive our hope. We need a leader to rally behind. We need a plan. We need a role for each and every one of us.
I read a lot of posts telling us what went wrong but never much in the way we can change all these wrong-doings. They say wait until 2006. They say vote. Can we really afford to wait another year? Who is to say our vote will count? Who is to say a democratic leader won't sell out?
I want answers folks. I want ideas. I want plans. There is power in numbers. Lets think outside the box. Can we change the posts just a little bit to include IDEAS that may be catalysts for change? I don't have answers either but I know they are out there.
I'd like to feel charged up when I read posts.
I'd like to leave this site with a feeling of hope.
