I was talking to a physician friend of mine the other day. He was mocking the plans for preparing for the avian flu epidemic. Bushco has ordered 20 million doses. That's not much, but consider this. My friend says that the doctors, nurses and emergency workers may have to take the drug, so they can keep working, for six or seven weeks. Each of those 20 million doses is a four or five day supply. Doing the numbers, that leaves enough medication for as few as two million people. I wonder who the whitehouse will chose. Will they go straight to their republican donor list?
