This is it, New Jersey. This is our time, and our chance, New Jersey, to show the entire country that the agenda of the Neocons in Washington DC is not wanted in our state. We have a man who can change the course of New Jersey for the better in that vein. It is rare when you have the right man in place at the right time. Let's take full advantage of it now...
I was born in New Jersey and lived here all of my life (and please, no cracks about sharing condolences with that fact ;-),) and have a very good idea of what people think of politicians from this state, and that is that they are corrupted. And that is an accurate assessment which spans both sides of the fence which has crippled the progress this state could make in so many areas, which is why it is time for a change. New Jersey is a very diverse state with people who work hard and show a track record of caring about the principles that make America what it once was and could be again, and we deserve a Governor who can help us get there.
We need someone who is Progressive in thought, not a backward thinker who needs to emulate the current regime in Washington DC by taking us backward. Therefore, in looking for a candidate to be this state's Governor, finding one who would be up front with the people of New Jersey was one of the important factors in this campaign for me. I also want a Governor who will stand up for working families, put the environment up front and center where it belongs, support public education and really making it better, one who truly has the ability to deal with the property tax issue and how it effects all of us ( meaning renters as well as homeowners,) and one who will demonstrate what it really means to have "homeland security." For me, Senator Jon Corzine is that man.
Senator Jon Corzine has a record of commitment to working families. He has stood with New Jersey's working families in their fight for fair wages and health care benefits. He has supported efforts to protect overtime pay, defended workers' right to organize, and have a safe and healthy work environment. He has stood up for our environment, our veterans, our seniors, and he stood up for the American people and our troops by voting against the Iraq War Resolution that so many Americans are now seeing for the horror it is.
Senator Corzine's Votes
His votes to protect our environment, support veterans, support seniors, support workers, support education, and support the reproductive choice of women are listed here. His votes show a man who is 100% behind the working families of New Jersey.
He also voted no on CAFTA, and no to torture. He co-authored the Sarbanes-Oxley Act to crack down on corporate malfeasance. He also supported legislation that reformed the 401(k) plan to minimize the risk of investment portfolios. He was a sponsor of the Start Healthy Stay Healthy Act which expands health care coverage for children and pregnant women. He was also a chief sponsor along with Senator Sam Brownback of the Darfur Accountability Act, which would apply sanctions on the Sudanese to address the genocide occurring in the Darfur region. He supports upholding human rights, the rule of law, and holding this corrupt administration to task. I firmly believe he is then the right man for New Jersey at the right time.
I recently received a reply from Senator Corzine to a letter I had sent to him regarding where this country was going (and yes, I did mention Impeachment in it) and the ultimate result I wished to see from our efforts in the future. I wish to share it here to show that he is committed to doing the right thing and committed to serving the people of New Jersey:

Dear (Removed by me)
Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about President Bush and the direction our country is taking. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this critical issue.
It is undeniable that America has been divided by the Bush Administration. As you may know, I have strongly disagreed with many of the Administration's policies and actions during my tenure in the United States Senate. My vision for America is quite different from that of the President's.
It is my strong conviction that we must forge a progressive agenda that focuses on practical policies that will benefit Americans today and in the future. By challenging entrenched power, special interests, and the status quo, an activist government can offer equal rights and opportunity to all Americans. We must take responsibility for our environmental treasures, the economy, the education of our children, and the health of all of our citizens.
Moreover, it is my firm belief that during these turbulent and troubling times, our focus must be on working towards the future. To disrupt the pressing business before the Senate and turn our attention to castigating the President is, unfortunately, a luxury we cannot afford.
Indeed, as specified by the Constitution the U.S. House of Representatives has the sole power of impeachment. The Senate has the power to try impeachments only after the House has acted. Therefore as your Senator, I will continue to strongly object to many of the misdirected initiatives and policies that the president has pursued and will continue to deride his gross errors in judgment.
I will work in support of equal opportunity for all Americans-so that everyone can enjoy the rights and protections guaranteed by our Constitution. We may not be a nation of equal outcomes, but we should be a nation of equal beginnings. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to make this vision a reality.
Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future or visit my Website (http://corzine.senate.gov) for more information on y initiatives in the Senate. It is an honor to represent you in the United States Senate.
Sincerely,
JON S.CORZINE

Well, all I can say to that is that it would be an honor to see him as the Governor of New Jersey. I also believe many more in this state feel the same way, as a new Quinnipiac poll today shows him up by 12 points. I think it is obvious that the people of New Jersey do not want Doug Forrester to have the chance to do to this state what Bush has done to this country.
I sent in my vote by mail request, and I hope all from New Jersey reading this vote next week whatever your preference or your feelings about this process. In order to take back this country we have to start with our own state. This election in New Jersey is also crucial in sending the message that we want change not only for New Jersey, but for America. Bush cut homeland security funds to New Jersey knowing our vulnerability regarding ports and location, therefore I doubt that his minion will do any better for this state. Let's then send a message to Bush that neither his destructive agenda nor his mouthpieces are wanted in New Jersey. New Jersey was the third state to ratify the U.S. Constitution. Let's now be the first state to show America that spirit has not died.
Let's keep New Jersey blue!
