PBS just aired an NOW program that had a hard-hitting story on the exploitation of undocumented hispanic immigrants by the corporations that have gotten the major rebuilding contracts. I strongly recommend that y'all watch it when it is aired in your area and that we promote the video when it becomes available on-line.
It showed the problems of men not being paid, at times being thrown onto the streets or being housed in disgraceful conditions. It did a good job of tying this to the large corporations with the contracts (it focussed on LVI) and tied it to Bush's relaxation of labor regulations post-Katrina
The show completely verifies stories I've heard from friends who've returned to New Orleans. It does a good job of telling the story of how Bush and his friends are screwing working people.
