It's that time of year again. It's time for us in the US to remember all the blessings that we've been given over our lives.
I don't know about you all, but there are many things I'm thankful for.
I'm thankful that I have a loving family. I don't always agree with them about a lot of things, but this time of year, I can at least sit down with them over a big plate of turkey and other goodies and know I'm with people who I love and love me in return.
I'm thankful that I'm relatively well off financially. Sure, I'm a cash-strapped college student, but after reading diaries like that from Jeff Seemann, I realize how blessed I really am to have a warm place to sleep, food in my fridge, and other comforts.
I'm thankful that I live in a country where I can speak my mind. The only reason we have sites like DailyKos, MyDD, and even LGF and Freeperland is because we're lucky enough to be in a country where we are allowed to criticize our government, and debate political beliefs.
I'm thankful for my girlfriend. I still don't know how a lunk like me ended up with such a beautiful, intelligent woman.
What are you all thankful for this holiday season?
