Happy Thanksgiving to all. Last night I was at a friends house for dinner. She is a U of Texas professor that teaches among other things, Government. As usual with those academic types, this couple has quite a few books relating to their given field. I found one book called "The High Crimes and Misdemeanors of Richard Nixon, a Guidebook for the American People" This book was prepared during the debate in the house as it considered impeachment of the POTUS. It was very detailed and documented. I began to think that it was high time for a new edition. More on the flip.
Nixon left before he got roasted on the spit of the Senate. I think it is now time for the Honorable Gentle Woman from California to grow a set and publish book two in the series - but with GWB in the title. The graft alone should do him in, but Iraq with no declaration of war is clearly outside his Constitutional powers, along with lying to Congress, etc. ad vomitum and you have quite a case.
Publishing a clear, concicse listing of all of the offenses and pecadillos of POTUS and VPOTUS would be another brick from the wall, so to speak. I would love to see the Rethugs squeal and squirm to prevent this debate from happening on the floor, or to see what they have to say for Shrubette on the record if it does.
I will take some good people to make the public argument so clear that the American public cannot misunerstand. He is electoral poison. He has shown that he is incapable of cleaning house himself, so to save America from itself and the GOP from very very short coattails and electoral death, this might help some moderate GOPers to see the light and a way out. I have heard all the arguments about waiting until '06 and they just don't hunt. The beast is down and now is the time to go for the his throat and the soft underbelly of the GOP.
Do it now and don't hold back.
