I've been enjoying this one all weekend. For some unknown reason,
geysers have begun erupting in western Oklahoma
These geysers are spewing gas and mud hither and yon, and are erupting primarily in Kingfisher county, which is close to Oklahoma City. The scariest city in the world, if you ask me. Flat and huge, stretching for miles, constant victim of giant tornados and hail the size of baseballs and winds and bad drivers and huge crosses set next to major highways. Kingfisher, verging on what we call Little Dixie, a bastion of KKK and white supremecy, coupled with Kiowa and Comanche and Apache and Kickapoo ...
And now, mysterious unexplainable geysers.
Admittedly, I live hundreds of miles from there, in the eastern part of the state safely nestled on a flintrock mountain in the Ozarks. But I did live in that area for a few horrible years while attending grad school at OU. The. Worst. Weather. In. The. Universe. Way too close to Dallas. Flat flat flat, and the doorway to the extremist individualism of many Westerners.
Needless to say, I was very uncomfortable there and delighted to get back to the eastern half of the state where everyone knws what everyone else is doing, but it's easy to go hide behind a mountain when the tornados (or gossip hounds) come sniffing around.
I remember once the town I was living in was ringed by wildfires. Visibility was almost nothing, the smoke was so thick, and no one even batted an eye, except me --- I was ready to call in a helicopter to get me out of there.
Do these geysers portend a huge and giant earthquake which will cause that half of the state (and Dallas) to slide into Mexico? Have The Powers That Be finally had it with wingnuts and hatched a giant volcano beneath their feet?
This should be interesting to watch.
