Millions more expected to die in continued attacks. The attackers and the reason for their aggression is yet unknown. The Department of Homeland Security has not been able to ascertian the source of the weaponry, even with the advent of greatly increased border and port security, and wide blanketing covertly operated domestic surveilance, new powers granted under the Patriot Act, but it is believed that much of it has been secretly imported from foreign sources. Despite the early success of Operation Desert Bait, attempts to keep foreign aggression directed towards troops in Iraq, at the projected cost of half a trillion dollars, infiltration of harmful agents has occurred stateside. Secret foreign policy to assude the attackers, directed by the Department of State, using both the carrot and stick approach in the form of torture or increased oil profits has failed.
Since September 9th, 2001, four years have passed. In those four years
2,200,000 Americans have died of cancer. (1,700,000 Americans have died because tobacco related illness. How many of them cancer?)
1,500,000 Americans have died because of poor diet and physical inactivity.
900,000 medical errors,
300,000 alcohol related,
280,000 diabetes related,
150,000 car accidents,
120,000 suicide (hang in there people!),
80,000 sexual behaviors,
75,000 illicit drug use,
(0 marijuana, being fair to the main source, but google this for yourself.)
Considering probable overlap here, and many other reasons missed, there have been 4,000,000 lives lost since 911 caused by unnamed agents, and millions more expected. It is however certain that all causes of death are directly by human hands, many probably preventable.
Congress and the White House are still considering how to respond to the attacks. But sources say budget increases for the investigation to find the source and research into how to increase security to prevent further attacks is expected to be in the billions, maybe even spending a few thousand per victim.
It is expected that a few thousand lives may be saved. But officials say those figures are hard to estimate, as it is very difficult to measure something that has not happened yet.
