Here it comes... "He is not King, he is President..."
Rep. John Lewis keeps the ball rolling below the flip

U.S. Rep. John Lewis said Monday in a radio interview that President Bush should be impeached if he broke the law in authorizing spying on Americans...Lewis is the first major House figure to suggest impeaching Bush.
"Its a very serious charge, but he violated the law," said Lewis, a former civil rights leader. "The president should abide by the law. He deliberately, systematically violated the law. He is not King, he is president."
They will no doubt consider swiftboating him, but considering Rep. Lewis' credentials, they do so at their own peril:
John Lewis is no ordinary politician. As a young man at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement, he withstood savage beatings. He was clubbed by Alabama state troopers at the Edmund Pettus Bridge on Bloody Sunday. Forty years later, he stands unsullied as a man of courage, conscience and great moral authority. When Lewis says the president of the United States lied to start a war, using a national tragedy as a cover for a predetermined invasion, you know it is more than partisan sniping.
And as the Boulder Weekly notes:
The type of opinions Lewis is voicing have long been dismissed by the media as fringe liberal beliefs. But they are now roaring up from the mainstream of American life.
That's worth repeating: the demand for truth, and for holding our leaders accountable, once may have been "dismissed by the media as fringe liberal beliefs" but are now "roaring up from the mainstream of American life." Yes in-f'ing-deed.
Let's let Rep. Lewis know that the real American mainstream is on his side here. Send him some love!
