One of the things that I think we could do is on a weekly basis at least, work on talking points, give them a trial and see how they fly. Dissect them, refine them, then send them to Dem leaders to work on the message they are sending out. Make sure if possible that there are no glaring flaws in them that allow repubs to shoot them down easily. No more than 5 at a time, because they need to be repeated and repeated for emphasis. And some may stick for weeks. We need to be flexible and be able to react quickly to events. Focus on what is not being reported in the MSM loudly, too. Talking point topics could include: Voting machines(the single most important thing for 2006). Iraq war. Posturing towards Iran and Syria. Katrina relief--lack of, NSA spying: data mining--not hearing this on TV at all. Executive branch power abuse.
Plamegate. On and on. Maybe we should have 10 and pick a top 5 for the week. What do you think about this idea?
Also we need a plan on how to disseminate this to Dem leaders and the media vs. Just posting them and hope someone picks them up.
Example: NSA domestic spying includes massive data mining of all telephone and internet communication: emails and what websites you visit.
Could critique this by saying: Do we know this for sure, or just suspect it? How does it relate to NYT articles, what James Bamford has said?
Just an example. Most Kos posters are much more sophisticated than I am and can provide more content and computer sophistication. So have at it. Let me know what you think about this idea.
