Peripherally, a shout out to the BewareGovernorGibson contingent;
though i find you deliciously snarky,
It ain't gonna happen...that's just
way
off the radar
speaking as a lifelong Californian, there is no friggin' way that we are going to permit another wingnut governor.
I haven't found anyone that takes this 'movement' to elect Mel seriously.
This ain't no purple state, bay-bay.
exposure and apologies below the fold...
Fact: In 2003, the Enron debacle embarassed Californians. We GOT IT then and we were deeply ashamed, many of us. Marching off to war for....uh, what? Gray Davis just seemed so useless, even complicit, that Ahnold even seemed a relief to some. So many archetypes, decades of imprints.
Today I'm hearing whiffs of some special little tax in store for us Cali's related to Enron. Ack.
Who didn't love Arnold before he started tinkering around in local politics and his rock got turned over?
Only to learn from Senator Orrin Hatch, the Republican from Utah, suddenly the world's biggest fan of making immigrants feel whole, that we simply must amend the US Constitution to allow foreign-born Presidents, resident 20 years. Even Barney Frank, the Democrat from Massachusetts, shoveled coal on that train.
Anyhow,
don't blame me, I voted for Angelyne
Boobs, not Bombs, that's my policy.
BUT
Worry not.
We don't get fooled again.
We SHUT HIM DOWN last month, and the Cal. legislators aren't going to leave him any crumbs either.
That ride is over.
The next California gubernatorial primary election is scheduled for June 6, 2006 to winnow candidates for the November 7, 2006 general election. That governor's term will be from January 8, 2007 to January 4, 2011.

Of course the state won't be tossing many crumbs back to cities and schools either, much less now with the recent Congressional budget merriment.
That's going to smart pretty good in California.
The awoken are having a think or three about how to handle our upcoming elections, too.
Westly's polling well, 6 months out; however Angelides has Congresswoman Pelosi, and Senator Boxer, and Senator Feinstein as co-chairs.
Reiner hasn't declared but I hear he's writing at the Huffington Blog.
Anyhoo, if you can stand
ONE MORE STRAW POLL...I'm curious whether the rest of the world gives a toot about California politics, yes I am.
This is my second diary ever, so gimme sugar, hey?
