Well the media has in their sensationalist way have let a lot of important stories slip from the headlines, never touched on again. At the top of my list is the outing of Valery Plame, the CIA agent. One thing that should have sparked the reopening of the media investigation should have been Robert Novak's statement that Bush had to have known. But it didn't!
WASHINGTON - Columnist Bob Novak, who first published the identity of covert CIA officer Valerie Plame, says he is confident that President Bush knows who leaked Plame's name.
Novak said that "I'd be amazed" if the president didn't know the source's identity and that the public should "bug the president as to whether he should reveal who the source is." Novak's remarks, reported in the Raleigh, N.C., News & Observer, came during a question and answer session Tuesday after a speech sponsored by the John Locke Foundation, a conservative think tank. Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer urged Bush to identify Novak's source or to say that he does not know who it is.

Frat-House Fun, "So Saith Rush"
Another one that the media let go after feeling the heat from the administration is the torture in the prisons. They couldn't wait to show you the pictures of the abuse, but not much more after that, it became a back page story.
This first caught my eye, and really touch me about a two years ago.
I came across a article on the internet, about a 14 year old girl that was picked up off the street, because she was the sister of one of the captives. The article described how she was drug into the cell block in front of all the prisoners and beaten. It also described, how her screams echoed throughout the prison. When that did not get her brother to tell them what they wanted, they striped and raped her in front of the whole cell block. It turned out that her brother knew nothing because he was on of a thousand that were just just picked up off the street ,in hope of finding some information.
Hey Rush, you fat son-of-a-bitch, and to the rest of the Neo-Con, and to all ass-holes that call themselves Christians, that said, that this was no worse that a Frat-house initiation, what fucking kind of collage did you go to, you sick son-of-a-bitches? Sorry, that burns my soul, when rape and murder, are justified buy this murderess bunch.
In preparing to write this article, I tried to find the story again but it has been taken down, but here is another that tells of the way children are used to get information.

Freedom Is For No One
I will combine the next 2 stories for the sake of space, and they go hand-in-hand.
The Spying on Citizens, and the Patriot Act. The media has never really questioned the Patriot Act, and what is there for. They tend to let the people believe that it is a good thing keeping us safe from the evil terrorist. If you believe this, well you are sadly mistaken.
What the Patriot Act does is protect the government, as they become and act like terrorist. It makes it so anyone that has read it and fully understands what it does should watch the government very close. I have written many diaries on the Patriot act, to try and keep the people informed on its status. With the Senate voting on whether or not to make the 16 sections 4 of which are crucial to the citizenry of the United States, the leaking of the spying by the NSA on the people of the United States, could not have come at a better time. Ah, but there again the media is letting it slip into the background, and while it is sliding back there, they are tell the people that it was ok. And what are the people saying about all of this? It's ok, as long as you deliver us from evil, Aman.
