Bill O'Reilly must be pissed.
This month, as in every December since he took office, President Bush sent out cards with a generic end-of-the-year message, wishing 1.4 million of his close friends and supporters a happy "holiday season."
Many people are thrilled to get a White House Christmas card, no matter what the greeting inside. But some conservative Christians are reacting as if Bush stuck coal in their stockings.
The cards are paid for by the Republican National Committeem and even the artwork is secular--dogs Barney and Miss Beazley are shown playing with cat India (or "Willie", as Shrub has nicknamed the critter) on a snowy White House lawn.
Of course, the theocon right is largely giving Bush a pass on this, attributing it to political correctness rather than hostility. But if there is indeed a war on Christmas--putting aside for a moment that such a concept is absurd--one has to think it's lost if Shrub is on the other side.
