Here's your chance to show Bush and Congress that it's way past time for them to start to
"do what it takes" (as Bush vowed) to help Gulf Coast residents.
The March on Washington is being organized by 2 NOLA women who are still in Pittsburgh following Katrina.
It's "tentative" still, because they still have not received the required permit for the March. I'll keep y'all updated.
If you cannot go to Washington, then have a march in your town or neighborhood on the same day as the Washington march. Such as Jackson Square for folks in NOLA.
More on the flip (the news stems from an AP article)...
Join the March to support the victims of all the hurricanes that hit this year. Join the March to protest the federal government footdragging by the WH and Congress when it comes to rebuilding the Gulf Coast (like the National Park Service's still not having granted the permit!). Join the March to show Washington that we just will not take it anymore. Enough is enough, whatever it is for which that holds true for YOU.
Contact Senator Mary Landrieu's office for more information and to show your support for the March. The organizers need to know that they are not alone on this.

Landrieu backs ‘march' on Washington
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is supporting two mothers who are trying to organize a "march on Washington" to call attention to the plight of Hurricane
Katrina evacuees, the senator's staff said on Tuesday.
The rally is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 14, but organizers have not yet received a permit from the National Park Service to hold the demonstration, said Sally Richardson, Landrieu's deputy communications director.
Richardson said U.S. Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, is also planning to support the rally.
"There are a lot of folks who are displaced and can't go home, and this is a good way of reminding people in Washington," Richardson said.
The protest is being organized by two women who have been living in Pittsburgh because New Orleans schools are still closed.
"The bottom-line is we said, 'We're not that far from D.C., why don't we put a human face to the situation?'" said Shawna Doremus, one of the mothers organizing the rally.
