The New Jersey Attorney General is
suing Blockbuster for violating consumer protection laws. Why?
Blockbuster is loudly advertising that it has no late fees, when in fact, it does, if you are more than a week late ($1.25), and it tells you that "you didn't return it so you bought it" after 30 days.
It is nice to see that occassionally, somebody does do something about a brazen corporate lie (and the article also notes that Blockbuster is facing real anti-trust scrutiny over a proposed purchase of one of its last competitors).
