According to the Austin Statesman, a Texas state Representative, Debbie Riddle of Tomball, has proposed the following bill:
"Bill wants doctors to file abortion reports
Rep. Debbie Riddle, R-Tomball, has filed a bill that would require doctors to report to the state instances in which women they treat are judged to have suffered complications from an abortion or an attempted abortion.
The bill would require doctors to fill out a form that contains a list of information, such as the patient's age, number of pregnancies before the abortion, the name of the facility where the abortion was performed and the age of the aborted fetus if it can be determined. The form would have to be filed within 30 days after examining the woman to provide medical care or treatment for a complication.
The information would remain confidential but could be submitted to "appropriate federal agencies." " statesman.com
Email her if you think this bill is an appalling violation of patient privacy. I do.
