I opened up my junk mail today, you know the place where all those email for buying viagra, vicotin and porn go after Thunderbird realizes that I wouldn't want to read them, and I was suprised to discover a letter from NRCC Chairman Tom Reynolds asking for money. I've read about an understanding between the RNC and the DNC that the Chairman is off limits. I don't know if this applies to the other party committees or not but I wasn't suprised to see this.
I'm dissapointed that I didn't find this as a diary post on MYDD or Daily Kos. You don't want to be scooped by someone who hasn't looked at his email in six hours, do you?
So please go to the
RNC,
NRCC, and
NRSC websites and sign up for their emails. Then if you're represented by a Republican in the house or Senate (or somewhere else) sign up on their email lists. Then go to your state Republican party website and sign up for their emails. If you still want to make sure you can write about everything else they do go to yahoo or google and sign up news alerts about the Republicans you like the least. If you have an News Reader go to
PubSubPubSub and create a feed so that you can know when that Republican is being talked about in the blogosphere. Then keep them accountable for what they say, propose, write and lie about. If you need a gmail account for all of this, put your email in the comments section, I'm sure there are enough kossaks with gmail invites to go around. Get off your bottoms, there are only 500,000 of you, and the Right Wing Noise Machine has a twenty year headstart.
I've convienietly changed the links below so that you're supporting the right party if you choose to give to the DNC.
Dear Supporter,
The events of the last few weeks have created a truly historic opportunity for all of us.
In his State of the Union address, President Bush outlined his exciting agenda for America and spelled out perfectly how we must continue to lead the world toward democracy and freedom.
And then, in an amazing counterpoint, the Democrats elected Howard Dean as their Chairman. This, as I'm sure you know, provided great material for talk radio, the Internet bloggers, and the late night TV talk shows.
One of the funniest, and totally true observations, came from the great comic writer Andy Borowitz, who prepared a make-believe press release with the lead: "100% OF REPUBLICANS APPROVE CHOICE OF DEAN: Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean Unites GOP, Survey Indicates". (Read the full press release at www.BorowitzReport.com).
Fortunately we didn't have to do any polls to know that the election of Dean shows conclusively that the ultra-liberal, ultra-elite have captured the heart and soul of the Democratic Party. They want big government, higher taxes, and most frightening, they want to appease those "supposed" allies around the world who think we are waging the war against terrorism just to impose our style of democracy on other nations.
Well, here's what I think. The leadership of the other party are no longer Democrats. They are "Deanocrats". And that's what I'm going to start calling them. And you should too. All of them. Right down to the elected office-holders in your city or town.
Make them say they don't agree with the policies Howard Dean called for during his run for the Presidency. Make them say they don't believe America is the way Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Moore, and Barbara Streisand try to make you think it is. Better yet, make them say publicly that they are not "Deanocrats". If they won't, then you know where they stand, and that they don't deserve to be in office.
And that's why I need your support for the NRCC to enusre we maintain the Republican majority in the House of Representatives next year. As you may know, historically the party of a second-term President usually loses House seats in the mid-term election. We can't let this happen.
The safety of America and the job of passing the President's agenda requires that we build an even wider majority for his last two years in office. So won't you please join the thousands of other patriotic supporters who are becoming part of the NRCC action team and send us your contribution today?
Thank you and may God continue to bless the United States of America.
Sincerely,
Tom Reynolds, M.C.
NRCC Chairman
