Just listening to / watching C-SPAN, Public Citizen & PIRG people talking about the legal blackhole of Binding Arbitration. She is using some good language, such as "level the playing field". When I heard her say "Citizen Rights" I cringed.
I really think that the righties have managed to turn any phrase using "Rights" into an image of a bunch of lazy people hanging around, not working, sueing everyone for their rights to an education, rights to legal representation, rights to not get screwed by corporate legal depts.
Personally, I see Rights as good economic policy. Too much of the society we live in wouldn't have been invented, made, marketed and sold if everyone who is working 14 hour days for starvation slave / serf wages was shoved to the side to rot when they stumbled.
Rights is a nice noble sentiment, but, lets live in reality. Reality is selfish, and some self sacrifice, such as creating rights, selfishly creates more opportunity and more wealth.
