oh, I just went back and now they've fixed it. 58-42. The correct numbers.
whatever. the vote is over. As everyone realizes, if all of those who voted against Alito had actually wanted him to not be on the court, they could have supported the filibuster.
But they didn't. Instead, they chose this empty poltical gesture, of voting against the nomination, but rolling over and voting Yes on cloture.
They don't fool us. Those 19 had better be prepared to face some questions at their upcoming primaries.
But that's all there really is to say about Alito on the Supreme Court, for today.
