Have you heard the latest Noise Machine talking point? Bush's triumph in the Middle East has proved Democrats wrong. Liberals have been wrong about every single issue in modern history. Why do they keep trying to ruin America?
From Ann Coulter's current column:
In an editorial last week, The New York Times gave President Bush credit for democracy sweeping through the Middle East or, as the Times put it, "a year of heartening surprises." Yes, the Middle East's current democratization would come as quite a surprise to anyone who puts his hands over his ears and hums during the president's speeches.
Rolling Stone magazine is making fun of "moveon.org" for having no contact with normal Americans. Their Bush-hating cause has become so hopeless that moveon.org is on the verge of actually moving on.
More after the jump...
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and all their clones are spewing similar garbage, brazen with the latest "proof" that the left has been on the losing side of every argument from The Cold War to Iraq. Last week Hannity proclaimed "The Democrats have been wrong on every issue for the past 60 years. At Least. Maybe longer." His guest agreed, with no objection from Alan Colmes
This wouldn't be as problematic if the media's loudest anti-Bush personalities weren't corroborating the story. Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Rolling Stone and the New York Times have recently jumped on the "maybe Bush was right" train.
The idea that the left has ALWAYS BEEN WRONG ABOUT EVERYTHING is seeping into the national consciousness, unchallenged by any voice in mainstream media.
If "liberals have always being wrong about foreign policy" becomes as ubiquitous a belief as "the liberal media" I fear this could be a crippling blow.
We need to scream. This should've been done two weeks ago, but while they're trumpeting the Iraqi elections' success, lets remind Jon Stewart and Bill Maher that Bush opposed them. If Bush had his way elections would've never happened. If us liberals had our way, they would've happened a year ago and soldiers would be home by now... but we don't care about oil. Remind them while they're pining over advances in Iraqi Human Rights that Bush doesn't give a damn about Darfur, or any non-oil rich country where death is commonplace. They need to be reminded that freedom is an inherent human desire, and it's burning in spite, not because of, the actions of the Bush administration
