Last week I tried to contact Ellen Tauscher D-CA regarding her position on the pending Bankruptcy Legislation. Instead of a reply I was redirected...
Thank you for e-mailing me. I appreciate hearing from you and value your input in developing sound policies that benefit working families and businesses in the Bay Area.
Unfortunately, because of the thousands of messages that I was receiving from around the world every day, it became impossible to sort the messages from my constituents, and I had to close this e-mail account.
Please e-mail me through the form on my website at http://www.house.gov/tauscher/IMA/get_address.htm.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Ellen O. Tauscher
Member of Congress
Emphasis mine - sk
Using her website I resubmitted my concern... Just after I clicked the
submit button I realized why she won't accept normal e-mail... she has complete
deniability.
And, she now has my name and address and I don't have squat... Not a copy of my post & no proof that I'd even written.
What the hell... It's LtrToEdr time and it was printed it in today's paper:

LETTERS TO THE CONTRA COSTA TIMES
Bad bankruptcy bill
Do average Americans really want a bankruptcy reform law written by credit card companies with no exceptions for the elderly, the sick or even military reserve personnel called away from their better-paying jobs? George W. Bush does.
It seems like Rep. Ellen Tauscher, D-Alamo, does, too. She has quietly requested that House Speaker Dennis Hastert rush the pending bankruptcy bill through the House as soon as possible.
If you live in the 10th District and believe the pending bankruptcy reform law is wrong, please contact Tauscher at once (ellen.tauscher@mail.house.gov).

YES... It feels good to scream out loud! And naturally I had to send a copy to Ms. Tausher...
Ms. Tauscher,
Last week I sent you an e-mail in protest to the letter you sent to Mr. Hastert regarding the pending bankruptcy legislation. You didn't reply. I felt the tone of the letter went against the feelings of those who elected you so I submitted a letter to the editor - Contra Costa Times.
It was published today.

I ask you again to:
1) Vote AGAINST the bankruptcy bill in its current form; and,
2) Do everything in your power to see that the bill in it's current form fails.

... and somehow a reply doesn't seem very important now. I'd rather have an explanation for her e-mail policies.
