I'm not really into astrology, although I do think there is something to there being personality likenesses among those of a particular sign. Besides, it's Friday night. I doubt there was a single Friday night in the mid- to late- 70s that I didn't have to answer this question. It was either this question or 'Hey, wanna go burn one?' I used to swear that was the 70s version of 'wanna come up and see my etchings?'
I'll get it started. I'm a Pisces, and I'm as true a Pisces as you will find.
Pisces tend to be one of the sweetest, but most naive of the Sun Signs. They are affectionate people and avoid conflict at all costs. They often lack high self-esteem and a vision for their own future. They tend to be overly reliant on others to give them a purpose in life. Pisces have to be careful; their need for escapism can lead to anything from excessive daydreaming to substance abuse.
This description seems to pretty well fit my personality tendencies. Luckily, I've figured out how to overcome most of the negatives. The hardest to overcome was low self-esteem.
I'm still working on that vision for the future thing. I hate those goal pages in Franklin planners and I hate the interview question, "Where do you see yourself in five years?" My answer never would have anything to do with their company. In my head, the answer is, living on a beach or a mountain with my laptop either programming or writing remotely. That doesn't seem the answer I should give someone when all I want from them is a paycheck, not my future.
As for the escapism.......oh! I'm sorry. Where was I? Well, you get the point. I'm sure many see this as a negative, but I'm not so sure that's true. But, it's okay, the substance abuse worked with that aspect of my personality quite nicely.
Avoiding conflict is a mixed bag. On the one hand, I don't even date these days. Hmmm, it's probably been close to three years since I've had a real date. But, George Bush has forced that other hand. I have no problem, and even consider it my civic duty (there's a term you don't hear in politics much these days), to unabashedly oppose him and most everything his administration stands for.
So, tell me, baby, what's your sign?
