[Mainly for Iowans]
A couple of somewhat decent articles in the Des Moines Register today (here, and here, send letters to editor here).
I couldn't find the info online, but many congressmen will be having town hall meetings in the coming week. We must go, and get them on the record either for or against carve-out plans.
So I'm transcribing the list of meetings after jump. Iowans, let's use this diary to organize for this week.

Harkin and King have no meetings scheduled
I guess the main goal for those of us who can go is to put them on the record regarding carve-out accounts. Use word "privatization" to refer to W's plan, defend the safety of treasury bonds (should we tell the japanese that we might default on those too?).
Contribute your own talking points/questions/goals in this diary.
Also, Leach Nussle will be running for gov, it looks like. So Bill Gluba (the Dem who ran against him) will not be running against an incumbent in 2006. He's campaigning already. Donate here.
Finally, interesting choice of locale for Leach: African-American Historical Museum. Will he be making the specious arguments regarding SS and race? One of us should definitely be there to call him on that.
One more. Is the state party doing some organizing regarding this? If not, why not? And why aren't Harkin and Boswell doing more on this? And what's up with King? Someone should call his office and ask.
Update. Bankruptcy is another great subject. Do check the tpm bankruptcy site for great background and info on what to ask about the. I still think the main focus should be on SS, though.
