Yesterday, when I turned to Fox, it seemed like we were seeing the situation from the POV of wingnuts trying to overthrow our legal system because it goes against their "values".
It struck me that the way the Schiavo situation was being presented was dangerous - in that it would easily whip less bright viewers into lynch-mob frenzy.
I was very relieved this morning to turn it on and see Michael Schaivo's attorney discussing the issue rationally and in depth.
Next, a former ACLU director was questioned, and in a low-key manner, explained how, that in all of the fray, no one had made it clear that they were fighting to protect the rights and wishes of Terri Schiavo.
I didn't watch Greta Van Sustren last night, but heard that she did a phenomenal job giving Fox viewers a sane take of the situation that has gone berserk.
It is heartening to see news acting responsibly to tamp down the hysteria that could so easily move into violence and tragedy.
A hysteria fueled by right wing politicians and a two-bit president.
