The above link is to a diary regarding advertising at dKos. There seemed to be a lot of controversy. I really don't get it.
Some people seem to be proud of the fact that they can get around the ads without paying for a subscription. This seems to go against everything I think about in terms of the people at this site. This seems like such an ethical bunch. I read about outrage in diaries against Republicans and their lack of ethics. What about our ethics in everyday life?
If you like the website, why not play within the rules? I would think that people would want to be supportive of the website by either tolerating the ads or subscribing. If people have a disdain for the website, this would different. But people who like the website want to turn off the ads without subscribing.
Armando was trying to defend the fact that people should subscribe if they do not want to see the ads. People did not seem to like this response.
This seems really strange to me. What is so wrong about doing the right thing? And by right, I mean honest and ethical.
