The latest
Quinnipiac University poll shows that "Don't Know" is leading the Democratic pack with 35% of the support in Florida's 2006 gubernatorial race.
The results--including Katherine Harris's latest numbers--are below the fold...
Following the illustrious Mr. Don't Know are:
26% U.S. Rep. Jim Davis (D, Tampa)
22% Florida Democratic Party Chairman Scott Maddox
16% State Sen. Rod Smith (D, Gainesville)
Among the declared Republican candidates:
35% Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist
33% Florida Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher
13% Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings (the effects of riding that sweet JEB! wave, no doubt)
In the 2006 race for the U.S. Senate, Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson's numbers have moved little since the last QU poll:
Sen. Nelson has a 50 - 17 percent approval rating, identical to the approval rating in the February 25 poll. Only 35 percent of Florida voters want to see Nelson reelected next year, with 37 percent who say someone else.
"Sen. Bill Nelson's approval ratings remain a little soft for an incumbent seeking re-election, but many voters are not focusing on the 2006 election at this point," said Clay F. Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
Should Republican U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris choose to challenge Nelson, she'd be facing declining support:
Rep. Harris leads State Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher 31 - 23 percent among Republicans. This compares to a 37 - 20 percent Harris lead over Gallagher in a February 25 poll by the independent Quinnipiac University.
Aww...sad I resisted the urge to post a picture of Harris, by the way. Your welcome.
