On altercation, Eric Alterman's blog, Skip Mendler from Honesdale, PA suggested something that I think is a great idea...
"I suggest to him, to you, and to your readers that it might be eminently appropriate to write to the White House and one's Congresscritters, and request that Marla be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and/or the Congressional Gold Medal. In fact, it might be good to do that a lot, and to suggest the same course of action to one's friends. It's highly unlikely the Bushites would give her a medal, of course -- but I'd say that makes it even more important that we make the request, wouldn't you?"
I apologize if this has been brought up already on Kos. For the record, I wrote the Whote house and my congressman to suggest this after I read Skip's idea. Thanks Skip, I can't think of a better way to honor Marla's work and her life.
