I sent this letter to the Morrison campaign, at info@Morrisonfor22.com.
There are no links remaining on the home page, so I used Google to get this.
I donated to him 4 days ago to help him to stand up to the DCCC.
I'm asking him for my money back, and for him not to share my data.
Subject: I'm Depressed and Disheartened
I understand your personal issues. Cancer is a terrible strain on one's family.
That being said, I do not believe that they are all, or even most, of the reason for this.
There has been extensive reporting of the pressure placed on you by the DCCC to withdraw from the race.
Their pressure would undoubtedly make your task more difficult, particularly this year.
I have not done much for your campaign, living in Maryland, all I could do was to send money, I believed about $100 the last cycle, and $50.00 just four days ago.
I believe that the $100 was money well spent, but now I wish that I had held off on the $50.00.
[A comment not in the letter: It figures, I donate, he drops out, the Saroff family curse remains.]
(more below fold)
You and your staff ran an amazing campaign, and did an excellent job mobilizing volunteers.
I do not believe that Nick Lampson will generate this level of commitment from your former volunteers, nor do I believe that his campaign will fare as well as yours, particularly if DeLay is out of office by virtue of an indictment at this time.
As such, I would like to request a refund of my donation of $50.00 made on Fri, 22 Apr 2005. Any donations to the erstwhile Democratic nominee for district 22 will be contingent on my evaluation of the Democratic candidates on their own merits.
Please do not share my name, address, phone number, or email with any other candidate.

Needless to say, I'm bumming.
I think that a lot of the Morrison volunteers will go elsewhere, and before I make an (admittedly meagre) contribution to the race in district 22, I need to know more about the candidates, particularly if DeLay is not the issue.
The DCCC just pissed off a bunch of enthusiastic volunteers.
Thanks
