Anyone who honestly believes that these neocons really have any plans to ever leave the Middle East is simply not looking at the reality of this situation.
I truly believe one must look at all of the events to connect the dots. I know some Americans refuse to believe that the Bush administration had anything to do with 9.11 (and that it subsequently has everything to do with our invasion of the Middle East,) but consider this:
The Patriot Act was written prior to 9.11 happening (why that hasn't been questioned I have no idea)...They are now working to keep our presence in Afghanistan permanent after installing an oil friendly crony in Kabul (Karzai is directly linked to Unocal...Bin Laden is not important to Bush and they as recently as two weeks ago claimed they didn't even know where he was...They tried to link Hussein to Al Qaeda and 9.11 to get his war in Iraq...Even though Iraq had an election almost four months ago, our presence there has not changed and there is also talk of us now building military bases in Iraq as the violence continues...The oil/gas pipeline deal goes straight through all of these regions...You connect the dots.
This war is going to go on for many years. Oh, they may bring some of the troops home for show (and you can bet that will get media coverage from the Bush corporate media, unlike the rotting dead bodies and rubble laying in the streets of Iraq that they never show), but that will only be to rest up until they are needed again in Iran or some other country attached to the pipeline. That is why they are desperately trying to up enlistment, as it was down 44% for the month of March.
This is not a war for "freedom" and it sure as hell isn't a war for, "Democracy." At least, not the Democracy our Forefathers talked about. This is the grand deception and the enslavement of our own children being brought upon us by sociopathic neocons bent on doing anything to get what they want... Even seeing American "collateral damage" right here.
I believe it is way passed time for many Americans to take their blinders off and realize just how evil the people running this country really are. A couple of thousand people dying on 9.11 really means nothing to them (especially when they can, "Shock and Awe" thousands of children with no remorse.) Bush even stated regarding 9.11, "I was trying to get out of harm's way." He spent that day not consoling Americans and being a leader, but flying all over this country until he could find a bunker to hide in.
9.11+Afghanistan+Iraq+restofPNACagenda=the moral and economic downfall of this country unless we stand up to the terrorists from within.
