Here we are almost four years down the road from 2001, September-11, and arguably, one would think that Washington, especially the capitol, the "Holy of Holies" would be protected unlike any other place on earth, and in light of the method of attack on 9-11, that no unauthorized aircraft could get into the airspace over the Inner Sanctum of King George the Cowardly. So, what happened when a plan managed to head that way? Panic...sheer panic. In the spirit of every emergency situation, it became the law of "every man and woman for themselves".

One might only guess what would have happened if a serious, suicidal air terrorist were at the helm.
It points to the failure of "Mr. Blochkhead's"
Der Faterland...er...Homeland Security department.
We had this nightmare "Patriot Act" shoved down our collective gullets without serious debate, and with most voting to approve having no idea of its true contents, and what has this draconian piece of crap accomplished except for limit the freedoms of good, freedom loving citizens?
So, four years (almost) later, duct tape and
clear plastic later, and color coded alerts in hand, when things get scary, the best plan they can come up with is "Run like hell!"?
