Well, of course, Senator Boxer wants to secure our ports. She is from California! They have a few ports there, ya know.
But I still agree with her 100%.
"Securing our ports is critical to our national and economic security," Boxer said. "We need to invest in securing our ports to keep this country safe. We cannot afford the consequences of doing otherwise."

You know what I like about Boxer? She's not all talk. So many Republicans are all talk. But they don't walk the talk. The Republicans talk about homeland security. Fighting terrorism. Protect the U.S. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.
Please. They are way more focused on fighting in Iraq than protecting us.
Boxer is walking the talk. She is not just out there with empty rhetoric. She is backing it up. In April of 2005, the Senate passed Senator Boxer's amendment calling on Congress to appropriate $60 million for jammers. These jammers are to deter roadside bombs. Novel idea, huh? Considering that bombs are causing 70% of the deaths in Iraq, this may actually save lives.
Now Senator Boxer has introduced legislation to protect our ports.
Boxer's U.S. Seaport Multiyear Security Enhancement Act would create a Port Security Grant Program within the Department of Homeland Security that would be funded at $800 million per year for five years. The legislation would also allow ports to receive multi-year grants to help finance larger projects. This legislation is a companion bill to the House bill introduced by Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald.
I do not want to hear anymore about how the Republicans are better at protecting this country and that the Democrats are all softies who can't protect the nation. This is wingnut framing. We need to get the truth out.
The attacks of September 11 created roughly $85 billion in economic losses. We must protect our ports. Not just talk about it. Our country is being so mislead by Bush's delusions. But his delusions are at our expense. Bush is not going to be knocked out of his delusions. He doesn't make mistakes. But we can point out his delusions to the public and show them what needs to be done to secure our country.
