In what has been a pretty bad year, once shaft of light has brightened it - Fox announced today that they had renewed the sitcom Arrested Development.

The show, not only one of the funniest of recent times but a show that has made fun of the Bush administration and Iraq situation, has been in limbo for a few months due to a reduction of their episode order last winter in order to fit in the conservative cartoon "American Dad" on the schedule. After months of waiting, Fox president Peter Liguori announced that the show is safe for another year.
In a great irony, the network is set to announce on Thursday that American Dad is being canceled. All is right in the world for at least one day.
