Catholic Group Protesting 17 Commencement Speakers, Honorees at Catholic Schools

(CNSNews.com) - A Catholic group that called on a Catholic school not to award Sen. Hillary Clinton an honorary degree for her pro-abortion views is protesting 17 commencement speakers and honorees for running counter to the Catholic Church's teachings.

In other news of interest to both Catholics and Episcopalians, Episcopal News Service writes of some reactions to the Seattle Statement on the Anglican-Catholic accord on the role of the Virgin Mary, released on May 16, which sought to create unity between Catholics and Anglicans.
More news: Reuters reports that the parents of Terry Schiavo, Bob and Mary Schindler, are right now at the Vatican. They have met with Cardinal Renato Martino, head of the Vatican's Council for Justice and Peace, and will also be present to see the Pope on Wednesday.
