Magoo is our 12 year old Blue Point Siamese Cat. In the last year he was diagnosed with liver problems and diabetes. His problems have gotten so bad recently that we have to put him to sleep tomorrow morning. So tonight we bid him a fond farewell.
Magoo was rescued from the humane society in Lincoln, Nebraska about 10 years ago. He's always been a very affectionate kitty, with a distinctive meow. His hobbies included eating plastic trash bags, occasional TV watching, drinking from the toilet, and brawling with his roomate and sometimes adversary Max. (Just so you know, the vet assured us his occasional plastic bag consumption did not contribute to his health problems. Apparently it's a fairly common phenomonon.)
Magoo was often affectionate to the point of driving us mad, but if that is the worst anyone can say about us when we die, we'll consider our lives well lived. It's amazing how a little furry body can make you feel less alone in an empty house. Here's wishing you plenty of tuna, catnip, sparkle balls, and blue plastic Walmart bags on the other side. We'll miss you and love you always.
