What will The YearlyKos Convention be?
Imagine... 1,000 raving liberals gathered together to change the world. Imagine they might have many high-profile speakers and contributors prepared to help, from Lakoff to Dean, from Garofalo to Franken. Now imagine YOU are running the show, YOU set the Agenda, YOU decide what is discussed, YOU decide who specifically should address each issue and topic. YOU have the power to orchestrate the symphony that will be the YearlyKos Convention...
All YOU have to do is tell us... What's YOUR Agenda? :)

Imagine... The Convention Agenda is segmented into four major topics of interest to OUR Community, we'll call them "Tracks". Imagine YOU get to decide these Tracks. What do YOU think are the four most important issues that 1,000 raving liberals out to change the world can achieve while at this Convention?
Explore what
Responsible Policy really looks like?
Define the meaning of
The Progressive Brand?
How about
Exposing & Confronting the War on Truth?
What are the next steps for
Building Our Community?
Should we focus on
The Bedrock Issues: Economy, Health Care, & The Environment?
Or should we explore
Religion/Values/Morality/World Relations?
Maybe we try and tackle
The War on Terror: Butter Needed More Than Guns?
I think the question might be, what CAN'T this Community do when we might have people like Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer, & other leaders listening and participating.
Ok, so we got you thinking about what YOU want the four major Tracks to be, let's take a look at the big picture. This is what the YearlyKos Convention Agenda looks like. At first glance these may seem intimidating, but let's take this a step at a time. Notice the Tracks are listed horizontally across, while the Issue Sessions and Dates are listed vertically. This means you can choose to attend any one of the four individual Issue Sessions happening at any given time, one for each Track. These are just examples, but you can see how the Issue Sessions, starting at the top and going down, make up the each Track. Also notice how each Track is unique, and how the 8 Issue Sessions can build over time, culminating in the final Session.
Now, the Speakers. You can see from the examples, we have Speakers for the Issue Sessions, the Lunch Events, and the Evening Events. YOUR choices for Speakers can be an organization (MoveOn Rep.), any DailyKos member (Armando), or anyone else YOU would like to see contribute their expertise to YOUR Convention (Joe Lieberman... Hey, it can happen right?). Our advice on Speakers is, make sure they are qualified to speak to the Issue YOU want addressed, and also... think Big, real Big. The Big Dog Big (That can happen too right) :)
Now that you see all the examples and possibilities , all you have to do is tell us... WHAT'S YOUR AGENDA?

With the help of the Community, we put together what we think is a flexible process which allows all Community members to contribute. Here are the various ways for you to share your ideas and input. We think the MS Excel document gives the best understanding of the big picture, but some prefer the MS Word document for its simplicity...

Instructions, Schedule, Example One, Example Two, "MY CHOICES",.

Plain Text - Download the file here. Please see the other examples images.
Again, at first glance these may seem intimidating, but more important than filling in every blank, is contributing. If you have ideas for all FOUR Tracks, including Issue Session titles and Speakers, great! But ALL input is important, and if you just want to make a suggestion for a Keynote Speaker or if there is one particular Issue Session that is very important to you, we want to know. We want this to be YOUR Convention and the input we get from the Community will help us to deliver a Convention that gives you what you want from the experience. Which is the purpose of all this :)
When you are ready to submit YOUR Agenda, please email the document, along with any question or comments, agenda.yearlykos@gmail.com
