I'm not a fan of
John McCain. I know a lot of folks on this board think he's great for his Maverick stands, but the fact is that this guy is a hard boiled conservative. One can check his ratings at
Project Vote Smart and see the very conservative figure he has cut.
But even with all of this, the armchair pundits and warriors at Right Nation think he's a weak kneed commiesymp of some sort.
There is a thread over there entitled
Is it Time for McCain to be Voted Out?". The post is by a guy, who of course is not one of McCain's constituents. Actually, none of them are Arizonans:
Does anyone else think that it is time for McCain to be voted out? This guy has done more damage to the GOP and it's supporters over the last few years. The latest travesty with judges and before that campaign finance reform. I realize he is not totally to blame but he certainly is so visible of a dem appeaser that without him we might be better off. Does Arizona have anyone who is not a RINO who could take his place?
I'll spare you the rest of the posts. But they go into the well known right wing cannards of "He's really a Democrat" (eh?) and "They brainwashed him in Hanoi". The added bonus: all the illegal aliens voted for him. The right has been saying that the undocumented voted
Grijalva and
Napolitano in...I didn't know they liked McCain too. Funny politics, those aliens.
By the way, I started a new political blog called Rum, Romanism and Rebellion. It is my chance to be more blatantly local than here. Feel free to reply to my posts on there.
