wmtraillawyer has made his case that talk of impeachment over the "smoking gun" evidence that the British minutes provide should be silenced.
This diary is for supporters of pursuing impeachment of Bush. This is the place to make your argument that the Democratic party must draw the line at this disgraceful disclosure and force the administration's hand.
Recommend this diary, and post your reasons why you believe it is in the best interests of the country the the Democrats pursue impeachment.
My reasoning past the fold:
I believe it is immoral, utterly cynical, to allow evidence of a crime of this magnitude to slip by simply because one might calculate that it is not an ideal use of time and energy. If the Democratic party cannot stand up to a crime of this magnitude then what exactly does it stand for? This issue is frankly larger than the 2006 elections.
Democrats need to stop listening to the dulcet tones of "reasonable-sounding" lawyers and other centrist Democrats trying to convince them to triangulate a way to a narrow victory and focus instead on devastating the very name and credibility of the Republican party. This country does not support the Republican agenda. Victory is absolutely assured if the Democratic party would simply stand for its traditional ideals unapologetically and stop playing these cynical games of political calculus.
