Having recently watched "Bush's Brain," the documentary film on the monster called Karl Rove, I have spent considerable thought on how such a creature can be combatted most effectively. I have reached the following conclusions:
1. Rove is a savant of decadent American propaganda politics. His craft is fundamentally dishonest because he believes that the end justifies the means. He will have men jailed and people killed to win political contests. He bears direct responsibility for the Iraq war and the deaths of thousands of innocent people.
- It is morally bankrupt and practically foolish to try to out-Rove Rove. The notion of finding and empowering a progressive anti-Rove is not a useful strategy.
- It is fruitless to look for chinks in Rove's armor and flaws in his plans. Rove's talents include meticulous planning and construction of his schemes. Each of his dirty strategems (e.g., Swiftvets, Rathergate, Gannon/Guckert) is walled like a Medieval fortress, with multiple rings of defense, dissembling, and plausible deniability. These schemes simply can't be cracked by direct external assaults, because they are designed to be proof against them.
- The political destruction of Rove can only be accomplished through internal attack. The fever pitch of Rove's cunning can be turned against him though a variety of tactics aimed at destabilizing his psychological environment. To that end, progressives should publicize all the actions of Karl Rove and make it clear that he is the leader of the American government. He should be regularly referred to as President Rove, and Bush and Cheney should be described as his assistants. Rove is a political life form that flourishes in the dark. The light of praise and publicity will slowly destroy him. All that is needed is constant, intense, irradiation with sunlight.
