Most people would ask, "What is HR418?" I have been trying to educate people on a few of the Patriot Act replacement Bills, and the two most important in my opinion are HR1070, And HR418.

In a quick over view, HR1070 is basically a Bill that lets the Congress impeach judges that don't rule in away that the congress agrees with. True it is a little more involved, but not much.
Now HR418 is a scary bill on it's own, there are 3 versions of this bill which is scary in and of its self. [We know how much the boys and girls on the "Hill" like to read the bills.] The difference in each version is the fact of a few word.
Now what the final bill HR418 (RFS) [Ready For Signature] requires that the National License, and, or, Identification Card have the following information on it,
1. Full name.
2.Date of Birth
3. Social Security #
4. Address (present)
5. Photo, (digital)
6. Magnetic strip, (Or the method of digital transfer of the time)
Which is what most states use now, although some states don't give the S.S.#. Now this seems to be ok, but what troubles opponents of this is that the Bill doesn't limit it there. The bill leaves the door wide open to mandate that all other types of information, be placed on the card. They put in a BACK DOOR.
Ok maybe I am paranoid, but what about this? All throughout the bill, they do away with the JUDICIAL portion of the government. It's true. In sec.102 Page 13, paragraph 1, lines7 to 19.
The Secretary of Homeland Security will have full authority, to construct barriers, and roads. No judicial review, no court, administrative agency, or other entity shall have jurisdiction to hear, cause or claim in full, or in part, from actions taken by, or decisions of the Secretary of Homeland Security.
Further on in the bill, it states that no Judicial Review, will be made on any cases or claims of, Torture, and other forms of cruel, inhumane or derogating treatment or punishment, under the United Nations. Ah, no wonder Bush wants Bolton.
Also in this bill, is a section that , provides provisions for a central data base, of information that will hold anything they want to know about everyone.[hey this means you] It will hold , medical records, financial transactions, shopping habits, in short EVERYTHING.
Now here is what I,and you may too find the most frightening thing of all, THEY REDEFINED THE WORD TERRORISM . It is a much wider definition of the word to include, firearm groups, anti-abortion groups, and, many others depending on who is in power at any given time.
This legislation gives authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to expand required information on driver's licenses, potentially including such biometric information as retina scans, finger prints, DNA information, and even Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) radio tracking technology. Including such technology as RFID would mean that the federal government, as well as the governments of Canada and Mexico, would know where Americans are at all time of the day and night.
Well, let me tell you I have become scared shit-less, let me tell you.
