I haven't been on your website or viewing your diaries for very long. However, I wanted to tell you how I am so very impressed ... not that you need a blessing or approval for that matter ... I just want to thank you for all of your efforts and all of your work.
I appreciate you so very much. You are critical thinkers, you work so hard, you are activists, and you are a caring community.
I fought so very hard when I was younger. I had a few victories. I gave up when Reagan won for the second time... a huge mistake on my part. I was part of the sixties and early seventies ... marching on Washington, etc.
I visited Berkeley during the early seventies ...
(more after the fold)
fliers were handed to you every few steps across campus. The fliers asked for you to participate in anti-war meetings or to support the local food co-op, etc. When I visited again in the early eighties, I received a flyer announcing the date and time of a fashion show. I was very disappointed. Not that there is anything wrong with a fashion show ... I just wanted more, not less.
My husband and I worked with MoveOn.pac in our area during the runup to the 04 elections. The energy was thrilling. I thought, gratefully, a mass of those-who-care are back. You were probably there all along and I just failed to look for you.
Anyway, thanks for the electronic fliers. Thank you so very much. You are my Berkeley.
